Chungju Awarded the Grand Prize for its Efforts

Chungju City will be awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Award at city evaluations in 2013 in terms of economic vitality following the President’s Award at the Korean Land & City Design Competition.

According to the city today, the city was recognized for its efforts to make a business-friendly city and facilite public transportation at evaluations of Korea’s local governments by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT).

The city received the highest scores in its efforts to create jobs, attract companies and facilitate the economy.

The evaluations are held every year since 2000 to evaluate local governments’ efforts to solve urban problems and identify and spread success cases.

Those recognized will be given incentives, including bonus points when applying for projects held by MOLIT.

A city official noted that the city was also awarded with the best agency award last year in urban planning section, adding that the city will endeavor to make Chungju a business-friendly and attractive city to live.
