(CHEONGJU = Newsis) Ochang 2nd Industrial Complex celebrated its birth after four years since its construction began in 2009.

Chungbuk Development Corporation (CDC) held the completion ceremony yesterday in Cheongwon, with the Governor of Chungbuk Lee Si-jong, Chair of provincial assembly Kim Gwang-su and Governor of Chengwon Lee Jong-yun in attendance.

The CDC invested a total of KRW 280.2 billion in the project since 2009.

Three companies including LG chemical and Celltrion Pharm have resided in 1,389,000㎡ site, and three other companies are currently constructing the plants.

Four companies including Booyoung Co., Ltd and Daewon Co., Ltd are constructing an apartment complex that accommodates 5,500 households.

“The complex is expected to generate KRW 700 billion production and value added inducement effect and about 4,000 employment opportunities, and it will encourage the province to enhance its IT and BT industrial competitiveness,” said an official of the CDC.
