(CHEONGJU = Newsis) The North Chungcheong Province (Chungbuk) is about to become the province with the largest climate change simulation center in Asia.
The province announced on Monday that it will establish the global climate change multi-environment experiment center in the site of Jincheon and Eumseong until 2018.
A total of KRW 22.8 billion will be invested with KRW 17.3 billion at government expense to build a world-class research system.
The center comprises a research laboratory (6514㎡) and a multi-story tower (1750㎡).
The research laboratory will analyze the changes of energy and performances of construction resources under the various climatic environments.
The tower, of 120m height, will perform experiments on concrete squeeze pumping and photovoltaic systems under the high environment systems.
Climate change response experimental facility artificially generates and control various climate elements such as temperature, humidity, wind and rain to analyze the impact of those elements on construction resources.
