Cheongwon Kicks Off Senior Job Placement Program, Carry out 29 projects

(CHEONGWON = Newsis) Chungcheongbuk-do Cheongwon-gun will push ahead to create job opportunities for the county’s senior residents by investing KRW 3.5 billion in 2014.

The county held a starting ceremony for the program at Agriculture Technology Center yesterday. The ceremony was attended by the county’s 500 senior residents who seek new jobs.

This year, the county will carry out 29 projects in seven fields, including public service, public welfare, education, market, group work, manufacturing and sales and manpower dispatch, for 1,540 residents.

Senior residents who participate in the program will work as welfare facility wardens, instructors, food service persons, school janitors, librarian helpers and laundry volunteers.

The county will also carry out “9988 happiness keeper project” to take care of local senior residents in needs.
