(JECHEON=Yonhap News) Research and Development (R&D) center for quality control of auto parts will open in Jecheon on May 13.
Korea Auto Industries Coop. Association (KAICA) said it will hold an opening ceremony for the center on the same day.
The newly-built center is designed to conduct car collision experiment and test quality of auto parts. Once the center secures more budgets, it will expand the facility by next year.
The center for quality control is expected to help local manufacturers produce complete automobile parts domestically, which can boost technological competitiveness in the world.
“The R&D Center in Jecheon will help SMEs greatly, supporting auto-parts makers” A city official said.
