According to Yonhap News,
(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) Cheongju City announced February 16 that it has set exports record of USD 11 billion in 2015.
The city will invest KRW 510 million in seven overseas marketing projects for 137 small- and medium-sized export companies.
The seven projects include providing export consulting to small- and medium-sized companies (SMEs); nurturing global trade experts; supporting export insurance premium; supporting companies to participate in famous trade fairs; supporting on and offline overseas marketing; boosting economic exchange between Cheongju and China’s Wuhan; and deploying delegations to overseas markets.
In order to expand exchange with Wuhan, the city will establish a trade office in Wuhan and participate in the tenth investment and trade fair.
The city plans to promote the projects with public institutions including KOTRA and the KITA Chungbuk Center to increase the competitiveness of the regional SMEs.
