(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) North Chungcheong Province announced March 9 that the construction of bio campus will be completed on March 11 in the Osong industrial and academic convergence zone in Cheongju.

The bio campus will be home to Departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy at Chungbuk National University, Department of Bio-medical at Cheongju University and Department of Biotechnology & Biomedicine at Chungbuk Provincial College.

About 460 undergraduate and graduate students will listen to lectures at the bio campus. About 50 companies have moved to corporate research center.

The completion ceremony will be attended by 400 people including Governor Lee Si-jong of North Chungcheong Province and Minister Yoon Sang-jick of Trade, industry & Energy.

"The construction of the bio campus will help Osong to become the mecca of the global bio industry," said a provincial official.
