According to Yonhap News,

(GOESAN=Yonhap News) The number of registered cars increased by 20.9 percent from 15,596 vehicles in 2010 to 18,861 in 2014, according to Goesan County on April 13.

It is the highest increase in North Chungcheong Province.

The county analyzed that the increase in the number of cars is due to its revitalized economy including the opening of the Jungwon University and the relocation of the Army Cadet Military School.

The population of the county also increased for the past six years and the population recorded 38,351 in 2014.

"The county has seen an increase in the population and the number of cars due to the revitalization efforts of the regional economy including attracting industrial complexes and capitalizing on natural resources. We hope the 2015 Goesan International Organic Expo, which will be held in the coming September, will help the county to develop more rapidly," said a county official.
