(SEOUL=Yonhap News) The annual summer festival of films with the theme of music kicked off in the central city of Jecheon Thursday, featuring 101 films from 24 countries.

The Korean film "Try to Remember" by director Kim Dae-hyun will lead other films in the 11th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival.

It is a documentary film about South Korea's first girl group Kim Sisters that made a sensation in 60s' United States since it became the first Asian act to debut in the country.

Seven films, including the Taiwanese film "Kara Orchestra" and the American documentary film "Keep On Keepin' On" will compete in the festival's sole competition section, "World Music Film Today."

The grand prize winner will receive 10 million won (US$8,157) in cash as well as the honor to close the six-day festival.

Other sections will screen various music-related movies and allow attendees to enjoy a number of outdoor musical performances at the Cheongpung Lakeside Stage.
