(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) The fifth Robot Fusion Festival, an international event hosted by Daejeon city and organized by the Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise and Daejeon Technopark came to a successful close.
The four day festival attracted around 30,000 visitors in total. The number of participants totaled 3,980 including around 500 foreign contestants from 10 countries.
The largest robot event in Korea also paved the way for the success of the 2016 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2016) scheduled to be held in October.
"The festival has become one of the major events representing Daejeon as the high-tech science city. It also significantly contributed to drawing public attention to the robotic industry as well as the mechatronics and ICT industry," said a city official.
