According to Yonhap News,

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Daejeon City announced that the city and local hospitals held events to promote the city's healthcare business and provided medical services with Russian hospitals for six days from August 28 in Sakhalin, Russia.

Medical staffs from Daejeon met with the vice head of the Sakhalin health department and agreed to make joint efforts for mutual development of health and medical services of the two cities. To that end, two cities will establish communication channels, exchange medical staffs for training, and build partnerships among hospitals.

Three rounds of promotional events jointly organized by five medical institutions of Daejeon attracted around 500 participants from local agencies, multi-national insurance companies, news media of Sakhalin and Khabarovsk.

"Through the marketing campaign, we successfully introduced advanced medical business of Daejeon to Russia's Far East region, which is geographically close to Korea. We aim to enhance our marketing activities further to tap into new markets including our sister city of Novosibirsk," a Daejeon Metropolitan Government health official who led the campaign said.
