Daejeon and Brisbane to Cooperate for Asia Pacific Cities Summit 2017

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Daejeon Mayor Kwon Sun-taik met Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk in Daejeon and agreed to fully cooperate for the Asia Pacific Cities Summit (APCS) 2017.

The APCS 2017 is expected to draw 1,500 participants from 100 cities to Daejeon during September 10 to 13 next year.

Mayor Kwon held a joint briefing session on preparations for APCS 2017 with Lord Mayor Quirk from Brisbane, the birthplace of APCS and sister city of Daejeon.




"Next year marks the 15th anniversary of forging sisterhood relationship with Daejeon," Mayor Quirk said. "I visited Daejeon to take our relationship to the next level and share ideas on a new paradigm for advancement of the Asia-Pacific," he added.

Two cities agreed to work together for APCS to advance its current relationship built upon mutual cooperation in education and cultural exchange to the more comprehensive collaborative partnership.
