Daejeon to Support 20 Companies Through Comprehensive Technical Commercialization Initiative

(DAEJEON=Newsis News) The City of Daejeon announced Feb. 9 it is pushing forward a comprehensive initiative to support technical commercialization in 2017, and through it hopes to benefit small and medium businesses that hold technonolgy capable of being introduced into the general market.

A total of 20 companies will be selected by the City, which in turn will provide a maximum KRW 70 million per company to help pay for various aspects necessary for commercialization, including technical supplementation, product manufacturing and marketing.

When the initiative is over, companies selected through an evaluation process to have shown further promise will be supported for another year. The evaluation process will consist of documentary and on-site examinations, a tecnical commercialization level determination, and a final presentation.

Previously, the City has been implementing similar initiatives every year since 2010, and has spent a total of KRW 7.5 billion on aiding small and medium companies. Applications must be submitted by Feb. 28 to the Daejeon Business Agency.
