According to Newsis News,
(DAEJEON=Newsis News) The City of Daejeon revealed Feb. 15 it has formed a task force in preparation of the 4th industrial revolution.
In cooperation with Daejeon Techno Park, as well as government-funded research institutes, universities and companies in INNOPOLIS Daedeok, the City has formed a task force of 17 experts to be in charge of different aspects of the revolution.
Earlier, at an executive-level meeting on Feb. 6, the City Mayor had mentioned the need for such a team, explaining, "Daejeon is ready for the 4th industrial revolution with state-of-the-art infrastructure such as INNOPOLIS Daedeok, and has a strategic edge in terms of technological concentration."
The task force will preemptively respond to government policies, act as a control tower, and build an organic system for cooperation among private, public and academic sectors.
Especially, together with government-funded research institutes in INNOPOLIS Daedeok, the City intends to select core tasks that could represent the greater Daejeon area and the Chungcheong Provices, related to such fields as robotics, bio-medicine, or drone technology, and thereby give shape to each project.
