Daejeon Discusses Industry 4.0 with Local Research Institutes

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) The city of Daejeon met with representatives of local research institutions such as Daedeok Innopolis to discuss ways to lead President Moon Jae-in's pledge to nurture special cities for the 4th industrial revolution.

The City Government Co-governance Meeting on the 4th Industrial Revolution that took place on May 24 at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) was attended by experts from the government and academia, including Daejeon Mayor Kwon Sun-taik, KAIST President Shin Sung-Chul, and Chungnam National University President Oh Deog Seong.

At the meeting, participants discussed how the city could best push forward with nurturing related industries and securing infrastructure, and later took a tour of KAIST's research centers where they had a chance to see first hand the latest developments in the field.

The city plans to establish a strategy that highlights its strengths, and submit it to the central government as a policy agenda.
