(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) With Korea's relationship with China starting to improve, the city of Daejeon has set out to promote its medical tourism industry in the Chinese city of Weihai.

The city announced June 8 that it will be visiting Weihai to hold a three-day event along with three local medical centers, including Konyang University hospital, to promote Daejeon's medical tourism services involving plastic surgery, beauty care, and health examinations.

Some 50 representatives of local broadcasting stations, educational institutions, medical centers and agencies will attend the event, and participate in business and medical consulting sessions.

In preparing for the visit, the city exercised caution in researching the potential attendance level and the local demand for medical services through existing connections in China.
