(DAEJEON=Newsis News) Daejeon Metropolitan City is pushing forward with the creation of a startup town across Gung-dong and Eoeun-dong to help young innovators start new businesses.
According to the cit on January 17, it will inject a tot al of some KRW 30 billion (KRW 20 billion in national funding, KRW 10 billion from the city budget) to secure networks and facilities for an innovative startup ecosystem between Chungnam National University and KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) by 2020.
Areas will be set aside in the town for innovative startups, including one-person companies, to move in, alongside support agencies.
Forums will be held regularly in the town, and exchange between young CEOs, successful business ventures and venture invesotrs will be promoted.
The city will also provide support for mentorship opportunities, as well as prototype manufacturing and financing.
