Daejeon’s Businesses Score Meetings with American Buyers on Potential Exports Worth USD 31.14 Million

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) The Daejeon Metropolitan Government announced on March 21 that the delegates on the Daejeon Delegation to the American Market, which toured Dallas, Tx., and Silicon Valley in the United States from March 11 to 19, held a series of business meetings with local buyers and investors.

The delegation included representatives of seven local businesses in Daegu, including SkinLeader, BioNutrigen, Saeon, Soyu, BTGin, Youjin Towel, and Maein.

The delegates held 75 business meetings exploring options for potential exports worth USD 31.141 million, and went away concluding to finalize contracts on USD 17.4 million-worth of exports.

SkinLeader, a cosmetics company, left the United States after deciding to continue discussions on USD 1.638 million-worth of exports. BioNutrigen also returned home with contracts for exporting USD 2.05 million-worth of the health supplement drink it has developed.

The businesses participating in the Daejeon Delegation to the American Market expressed great satisfaction, as they were given opportunities to visit potential buyers and increase their chances for success with the expert one-on-one support provided by the local KOTRA staff.

Kim Gi-hwan, Chief of the Business Support Division at the Daejeon Metropolitan Government, explained: “We intend to provide even more diverse programs of support for local exporting businesses by helping them launch offices abroad and localize their production and distribution, and assisting them with their future business trips to the United States.”
