Daejeon City and Bình Dương Province, Vietnam agreed on cooperation and exchange to build smart cities.

On April 9, Acting Daejeon Mayor Lee Jae-gwan and Bình Dương Province Vice President Mai Hong Yoong signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Smart City Exchange and Cooperation in the City Hall.

Smart City is a city that provides various services through urban infrastructure made from the convergence of ICT and construction technologies to improve the city's competitiveness and citizens' quality of life.

Under the agreement, the two cities will share ideas and information on policy, experiences, best practices, fostering smart city experts and activating exchanges.

Daejeon City is the fist city in the region to set up a Smart City Integration Center and use CCTVs to ensure the safety of its citizens. The delegations from Bình Dương Province visited the Smart City Integration Center as part of their visit.

Daejeon City plans to take part in the World Technopoli Association's Global Innovation Forum taking place in Bình Dương in October, to hold forums on the topics of "building smart cities and global cooperation" and "preparing for smart city development."
