(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) On May 6, Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise (DIME) announced it will host Asiacrypt 2020, the Asian regional conference of the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR).
According to DIME, the IACR announced Daejeon as the destination for their Asian conference during a recent board meeting in Tel Aviv, Israel.
About 300 information security and code experts from 35 different countries are expected to attend Asiacrypt 2020.
Asiacrypt is one of the three academic conferences held annually by the IACR, the world's top encryption and information protection theoretic and applied technology research group. The conferences are held every year in Europe (Eurocrypt), the U.S. (Crypto) and Asia (Asiacrypt).
A DIME representative stated, "Asiacrypt 2020 will help elevate Daejeon as a scientific city and to revitalize local economy. We will cooperate closely with Daejeon City to attract more international events in the future."
