Daejeon City and 10 Agencies Push for Corporate Human Rights

According to Yonhap News,

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) On June 5, Daejeon City signed a business agreement for the expansion of human rights business management and human rights culture with 10 organizations including the Daejeon Sejong Research Institute and Daejeon Technopark.

The parties will work to build a system to institutionalize human rights business management, practice and evaluate the state of human rights business management in the organizations, expand the of scope of human rights management for suppliers and subcontractors and other projects to protect and promote human rights.

The city will provide human rights education for employees of participating organizations, and conduct case consultations and relief procedures in the case of human rights violations.

The parties also plan to reflect a social value indicator of human rights in the appraisal system of performance evaluations of the affiliated institutions.

The city has already signed human rights management business agreements with four corporations and organizations, including the Daejeon Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation and the Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise to support human rights education and human rights management activities for employees.
