Daejeon Secures KRW 6.2B to Create Jobs for Youth

According to Yonhap News,

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) On June 28, Daejeon City announced that 12 of the city's projects submitted to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's regional job creation for youth contest were selected.

As a result, the city will receive KRW 6.222 billion in government expenditure to create region-specific, customized jobs for youth.

Some of the major projects selected by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety include a youth employment in regional tourism program, an innovative startup town to provide students with work space and a new leader program to connect students to employment opportunities.

Han Seon-hee, director of science and economy for Daejeon, remarked, "We plan to come up with detailed plans for each of the projects that have been selected. We will make sure to reflect our region's characteristics in the projects and lead the country in creating jobs for youth."
