30 Countries Gather in Daejeon at the International Youth Robot Conference Next Year

According to Yonhap News,

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Daejeon City announced on the 4th that it succeeded in attracting the International Youth Robot Competition next year, after competition with China's Shenzhen.

The International Youth Robot Competition was one of the Robot Fusion Festival programs hosted by Daejeon City from 2014 to 2016. It has become an international competition, and was held in Malaysia last year and in Thailand this year.

More than 1,500 people from 30 countries will compete in six junior, three senior, and three open events at next year's competition.

The city plans to hold the competition at the same time the Robot Fusion Festival is held, which is next August.

Han Sun-hee, Director of Science and Economy of the city said "It is delightful to hold once again the competition Daejeon has created and spread, especially in the year of 2019, the Visit Daejeon Year and the 30th anniversary of the city's promotion to a Metropolitan city, as well as the 70th anniversary of the city's foundation."
