Daejeon to host the 26th International Conference on Multimedia Modeling next year

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Daejeon will greet multimedia specialists from abroad next year.

Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise (DIME) announced on January 25 that Daejeon has been confirmed as a venue to hold the 26th International Conference on Multimedia Modeling. .

According to DIME, Daejeon won the competition to host the conference at BOD meeting held in Greece earlier this month.

MMM conference was established 25 years ago, led by Multimedia part of the U.S. Association for Computing Machinery, has been providing a place to share new ideas, research results, and development experience in multimedia-related areas.

Recently, innovative papers covering multimedia and AI have been presented.

During the conference period, Video Browser Showdown will also be run, aiming to find relevant videos for selected subjects most accurately and quickly.

The conference will provide unique experience with various technologies such as deep learning.

This is the first time that Korea is confirmed to host this conference.

The conference is expected to be attended by about 300 people.

A professor from KAIST said "MMM conference has become a venue to present innovative and unique research results," adding "it is likely to contribute to improving research quality in Korea and promoting the status of Daejeon, the city of science".
