Daejeon -ETRI secured national budget of KRW 3.7 bn by winning a MCST project

Daejeon city announced on March 29 that it is to receive KRW 3.7 billion, in collaboration with Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), as its proposal was selected in a project to "support R&D on cultural technology," offered by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism(MCST).

According to the city, its winning proposal was "meta-play-based smart game service platform development". The meta-play is a kind of virtual reality game method, mixture of video and computer graphic, and is an artificial intelligent game as it diversely changes and evolves depending on playing style.

The city plans to actively utilize this platform in the operation platform of e-Sports stadium. The city also won a project to establish e-Sports stadium, also offered by MCST.

A city official said, "We will continue to discover and apply R&D contents projects by utilizing ETRI's advanced technologies, thereby contributing to making the city's e-Sports stadium one of the world's best, which can be a place to bring people together.
