According to Yonhap News,

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Traditional French culture and art can be enjoyed in Jung-gu, Daejeon.

Jung-gu signed MOU with France Embassy in Korea and Alliance Francaise De Daejeon for exchanges and cooperation on culture and art.

The three entities agreed to cooperate in building cultural network through sharing of culture and art materials and information, jointly plan and promote festivals, rent Alliance Francaise De Daejeon for no charge, and actively support participation of French writers, artists and famous lecturers in regional culture and art events, and expansion of unique expertise and operation skills in culture, art, and festivals.

The MOU is in effect for five years, and then deemed renewed automatically each year for an additional one-year period.

The MOU is a result of awareness for cultural exchange between Jung-gu and France Embassy in Korea, led by Alliance Francaise De Daejeon moved in Seokgyo-dong in November last year.

Ambassador Fabien Penone and County Mayor Park met for the first time at the opening ceremony of Alliance Francaise De Daejeon and met again in Festival culinaire francophone de Daejeon 2018.

At that time, mayor Park suggested active civic exchanges, which was warmly received by Ambassador Penone.

The ambassador promised active support and interest in Daejeon students' study in France and cultural exchanges in the private sector, leading up to the MOU.

The president of Alliance Francaise De Daejeon also promised to take active role in promoting France's unique and diverse culture, and expanding cultural exchanges.
