(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) On August 8, Daejeon City selected 16 outstanding companies in Daejeon.

At the meeting room of City Hall, Daejeon mayor and representatives of 16 companies participated at a ceremony of awarding Star Company Certification and Signboard.

Of the companies with 10 or more regular employees, sales of KRW 5 billion-40 billion (2.5 billion-40 billion for bio material industry) in the past three years, the City selected 16 companies by considering the ratio of regular employees, R&D investment, exports ration, and sales increase ratio.

The selected companies will be supported by KRW 32 million for consultation, and KRW 30 million -80 million for participation at foreign exhibition or production of export promotion video.

For the companies engaged in R&D, up to KRW 600 million will be supported.

The City launched this program last year, and plans to select about 75 companies by 2022.
