According to Yonhap News,

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Daegeon city unveiled its urban development plan which costs KRW 88.9billion for new amenities in hopes of better service and convenience in the city community.

The budget came from a reward(worth KRW 35.7billion) for 11 SOC(social overhead capital) projects that the city proposed and was finally chosen through a public voting, hosted by the Presidential Committee for Balanced National Development.

Adding the allocation to local taxes(KRW 53.2billion), the city is now setting a plan to build up a multi- complex of facilities: cultural centers, public libraries and community centers that can accommodate citizens living there.

A city representative, Lee Uen-hak, said "most urban plans that we've pushed for so far were mainly focused on large scale construction that rarely gives tangible comforts and improvement in life for many residents here. This time, we're going to take steps before the initiation of the plan to get ourselves fully ready for the process. To make things go as planned, we also keep working on next year's bidding for the city projects."
