The city of Daejeon to have a five-start-hotel

According to Yonhap News,

DAEJEON, Sep 27 (Yonhap) -- The city of Daejeon will have a five-start-hotel for the first time near Chungcheong Province. The city made an official statement on Sept 27, of the investment plan made by Shinsegae Co., Ltd., who reached a KRW 600 billion sponsorship deal.

The hotel will have 206 rooms in total. About 20 percent, or 40 rooms would be suite. Shinsegae Chosun Hotel, responsible for the management said they are planning to create a large banquet hall which can accommodate 350 guests inside.

Data from Korea Tourism Organization shows that there's not even a single 5- star- hotel in Sejong, Daejeon and near Chungcheong Province whereas 60 in other places nationwide.

The investment plan is highly expected to increase visitors inflow particularly when the city holds a large international event once the construction is over.

Shinsegae Co., Ltd. also announced that they'll build up a pedestrian overpass, bridging between Science Complex and Hanbat Arboretum. Science Complex, which totals 283,466m2 with a 43 story building that has 5 basement levels below, is scheduled to be set up by 2021. The complex will become a giant place to enjoy entertainment that has a department stores, theatres and other facilities to play around.

The city mayor delivered a thank you message to Shinsegae, saying "I'll give my full support to the investment plan to turn the city into a main hub of MICE business in the coming days."
