Shinhan Financial Group decided to make a KRW 100 billion investment in Daejeon Startup Park. On Dec. 20, the president of Shinhan Group and Daejeon city mayor signed an investment contract that underlines the establishment of the startup incubator.

Further specifically, Shinhan Group helps the city of Daejeon which recently launched the construction project to have a startup park inside Yuseong district, embrace a place to support business activities. They’re planning to develop venture capital funds to help startups moving into.

The city of Daejeon has been accommodating a local startup incubator, an industry-academia agglomerate that has a large pool of capable human resources, R&D infrastructure and source technologies.

The investment pact between one of major financial groups and Daejeon city appears to refresh startup ecosystems in the city.

“This is a breakthrough moment through which the city makes a great leap forward and the nation as a whole can move forward. Daejeon city will make an all-out effort to create success stories, teaming up with all the entities involved.”, the mayor said.
