According to Newsis,

The city of Daejoen announced on Aug 10 that the city government will spur running a biz- support program, helping local hidden champions join the process of transitioning technologies from the research lab to the market place to ensure inventions are developed into marketable products and services (technology commercialization). The selectees to take part in the service this year include Sherpa Space, Neo Nanotech, TheWaveTalk and seven others.

These candidates have been through three separate screening stages for the selection process from online classes, sponsored by Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and Texas University, USA, presentation sessions to business consulting.

With industry-academia partnership program, these selectees will be given a set of marketing solutions: meeting with potential clients, product testing and simulation, joint-research work and incorporating local entities (called “Business Development”).

They’re also allowed to reach out to customers in Latin America via KAIST’s networking program, designed exclusively for technology commercialization.

“We’ll never spare our effort to prime the pump for these hidden champions to turn them into globally competent giants.”, said a city official.
