Daejeon city to host Teenovation project to nurture young startup founders

The city of Daejeon embarked on a project which helps form a local startup platform to improve entrepreneurial sprits especially for teenagers. In collaboration with other private-public bodies- Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, Chungnam University, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), Alumni Network of Science and Technology Institutes of Korea (ANSTIK), TWINNY and Daejeon Business Agency (DBA), the city government and its counterparts reached a consensus to push for what’s called ‘Teenovation (teen&innovation)’ project.

This is a type of entrepreneurial accelerator programs, intended to develop a startup platform to nurture young founders of the future with full support from 50 industry-academia professionals including college professors, engineers developing artificial intelligence and robot technologies, alongside several other incumbent or retired scientists, who’ll take the role of mentors.

With such coaching program, teenagers are allowed to go through a course of screening process to identify and assess whatever creative ideas can be worth commercially exploring. The best candidates of the program can be entitled be given special privileges.
