The city of Daejeon unveiled a master plan on public healthcare and climate change on Jan 5, saying the authority funnels nearly KRW 300 billion into the project, which entails four main agenda covering public health-mental healthcare solutions, climate change climate change mitigation efforts and pedestrian-friendly streets with 60 detailed tasks to be pushed ahead, under the slogan of ‘to make city happier and healthier, where local residents reach the age of 100 years’.

Nearly KRW 131.5 billion, KRW 44.7, KRW 9.5 billion and KRW 10.1 billion of funds are estimated to be allocated to the formation of Daejoen medical center, city rehab-hospital, senior care center and the city infrastructure to accommodate facility used for water resource recycling each. The rest KRW 3.2 billion will go to a fine dust reduction system to keep the air clean.
