Daejeon-si and specialized companies signed MOU to make the city into a global special video city

Korea's leading special video companies are set to turn Daejeon into a world-class special video city.

Daejon city signed MOU to establish an ecosystem of special video industry with CEOs of special video companies, movie producers, and movie directors on June 15.

It was participated by special video specialists including leaders of Realies Pictures, Westworld, and Artx, among others.

They are planned to cooperate on establishing virtual production, jointly developing basic technologies, nurturing experts in special video development and production, employment support, establishing a hub of commercialization, and creating Daejon branch.

They will also join forces in the project of establishing 'convergence special video contents cluster' that Daejeon city has been pushing forward.

This project was selected as subject to preliminary feasibility study in November 2019, and Korea Development Institute (KDI) is currently analyzing cost and benefit.

The city expects 1,200 jobs created for the youth, 106.3 billion won in production inducement effects, 49.1 billion won in value-added creation.
