Science Festival kicks off in Daejeon, a capital city of science

The '2021 Daejeon Science Festival', a festival focused on science, will start on October 22 and will be held mostly online until October 26, followed by various events for citizens participation on November 13-14.

Under the theme of 'Let's enjoy science, let's play in Daejeon', 48 programs are scheduled for citizens to participate and enjoy in 5 fields, including lectures, performances, and science experiments.

The city plans to hold events during this month online in consideration of the COVID-19 situation, while holding the events scheduled for next month offline with citizens participation in anticipation of living 'with Corona' situation.

About 250 drones will fly and display a colorful light show at the opening ceremony.

During the festival, citizens can participate online tour of 5 government-funded research institutes including the Korea Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology and the Korea Institute of Standards and Science.

At the World Science and Culture Forum, which will be held for two days starting from October 25, there will be lectures delivered by famous domestic and foreign lecturers and open discussions participated by online citizen commentators.

On November 13-14, there will be various citizens participating events in Daedeok Innopolis, O!World, Soje-dong of Dong-gu, among others.
