Daejeon to invest KRW 5 bln in Daedeok Innopolis technology demonstration projects

Daejeon-si announced on March 9 that it will actively work towards the 'Daejeon-type new convergence industry creation special zone technology demonstration project' in earnest.

It is a project that supports commercialization of local companies and demonstration by discovering technologies with potential for commercialization and start-up among public technologies developed by universities or government-funded research institutes in Daedeok Innopolis.

KRW 5 billion will be put into carrying out pre-planning and supporting demonstration projects and Dadeok Innopolis technology-based demonstration projects.

12 candidate tasks for demonstration projects will be determined through 1st pre-planning task, which will go through the 2nd selection process, followed by implementation of demonstration projects.

If selected as pre-planned projects, KRW 20 million er project will be paid for pre-planning of the demonstration project, business consultation, and establishment of the development plan for the demonstration project.

After the finalization of the pre-planning phase, which would take about 3 months, the final 4 demonstration projects will be selected through a review by a committee composed of experts. Each of 4 selected project will receive support of about KRW 1 billion as demonstration expenditure.
