According to Yonhap News,
On May 10, Daejeon-si announced that it agreed to bolster exchanges with its sister ciy of Montgomery County, US, through economic and scientific cooperation.
At a welcoming event held for the Montgomery County delegation to Daejeon, the city signed an MOU to promote economic exchanges, including support for companies to enter the other side's market.
Montgomery County is home to companies and government agencies in the bio-sector such as the US National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are gathered, with bio-health and biotechnology as its main industries.
Daejeon-si established a sister city relationship with Montgomery County in 2017 and has continued cooperation and exchange.
Daejeon's mayor said, "We hope this visit by Montgomery County will serve as a stepping stone for bio companies in Daejeon to enter the United States market."
The city's economic delegation led by the mayor is planned to visit Seattle and Montgomery County in June this year.
