According to Yonhap News,

On June 21, Daejeon-si announced that the local economic delegation, including its Mayor, will head to North America on June 23 for 7-day trip to strengthen international cooperation in science and economy.

They will first visit Montgomery County, a sister city of Daejeon.

They will seek overseas sales channels through meetings with North American companies in bio and IT sectors.

Earlier, Montgomery County Mayor visited Daejeon in May and signed an agreement to provide incentives for companies in Daejeon when entering the U.S.

The delegation will visit the National Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Montgomery County and meet with Mayor to further the friendly exchanges between two cities and promote expansion of the companies.

The delegation will also visit Seattle, where the headquarters of global companies such as Amazon and Boeing are located, to continue to witness the latest technology trends on site.

Daejeon also plans to make a joint declaration with Seattle to strengthen exchanges in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of exchanges.

The Daejeon city delegation also plans to visit Bellevue, Washington, and Calgary, Canada, to talk about their cities and business exchanges.

Daejeon's Mayor said, "we will endeavor to make achievements in various fields through exchanges with overseas sister cities."
