According to Yonhap News,
On October 6, the Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) announced that Daejeon has been decided as a host city for the "95th ICOLD 2027 Annual Meeting".
K-Water joined hands with the Ministry of Environment, Daejeon City, and the Korea Tourism Organization to convey its intention to host the event to the ICOLD (International Commission on Large Dams) Secretariat, and was finally selected as the venue for 2027 at the 92th Annual Meeting in New Delhi, India.
The ICOLD, which has a membership of 106 countries around the world, is the largest event to share dam technology, and operation and management information.
It holds an annual meeting and academic conference every year in different venues. Korea hosted the 72th annual meeting in Seoul in 2004.
K-Water expects that about 1,500 people from 70 countries will visit Daejeon to participate in the 2027 event, leading to an economic effect of KRW 4.3 billion.
