(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) Gangwon Province and Wonju City signed an investment memorandum of understanding with Ashimori Korea on May 23. Ashimori Korea will expand its investment in the city while the city provides administrative support to the company.
Ashimori Korea has signed a tenancy agreement with Wonju City last July and invested KRW 8.5 billion in building its plant in March, 2016.
Ashimori Korea, which produces airbags and seatbelts, will invest KRW 13.6 billion more in the plant.
The number of new employees will reach 180 thanks to its additional investment.
Ashimori Korea, established in 1879 in Osaka, manufactures industrial textile products.
