Gangwon's Medical Device Companies and Auto Parts Makers Join Hands

(WONJU=Yonhap News) Automotive components manufacturers and medical device companies in Gangwon Province will work together to form an extensive cluster consultative body for convergence of auto parts and smart healthcare technology.

Gangwon Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICC) will hold a ceremony to launch the 'Smart Car-Health Service Convergence Forum' at the Oak Valley Resort in Wonju on November 22, 2016 with about 200 participants from related agencies, colleges and business community in attendance.

Following the inauguration ceremony, presentations by international and domestic experts and an international forum participated by members of the Gangwon Mini-Cluster Union will be held.

The convergence forum will be organized by the Gangwon Regional Headquarters of the KICC and jointly operated by the Research Institute for Gangwon, Kangwon National University, Yonsei University Wonju Campus, Hallym University, and Gangneung-Wonju National University.

The forum is a project selected by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy as customized projects for industrial complexes in each local government. A total of KRW 400 million of national fund will be injected over the next two years.
