According to Yonhap News,

(HOENGSEONG=Yonhap News) Hoengseong County announced that it was selected as the best municipality for the second consecutive year in the evaluation of investment promotion performance conducted on 18 cities and counties in Gangwon Province.

The evaluation was carried out in two areas: cities and counties where investment promotion is active such as Wonju and Chuncheon; and other inactive areas such as Samcheok and Jeongseon. Hoengseong was selected as the best municipality in the active area.

In this evaluation, which was conducted to spread effect of investment performance and facilitate investment promotion efforts, Hoengseong County was recognized for its excellent results in all fields such as business attraction, investment performance, job creation and publicity campaign results.

Hoengseong has attracted a total of 41 companies since 2014 including 13 companies setting up their businesses in the county this year, drawing a total of 147.5 billion won in investment and creating 1,110 jobs.
