(WONJU=Yonhap News) Gangwon Province and Wonju City will sign memorandums of understanding with four companies for mutual cooperation in investment in Wonju on December 21 at Wonju City Hall.




The four companies will collectively invest KRW 53.8 billion to set up production lines on the 179,443㎡ land in the Wonju Enterprise City and Usan Industrial Complex and hire 156 local talents, boosting the regional economy and creating jobs.

Among companies entering into contract, Samyang Foods will inject KRW 17.8 billion from September 2017 to June 2018 in its existing land in the Usan Industrial Complex to expand high-speed production lines capable of producing 300 million packs of instant noodle a year and hire 50 new employees.

"Through the investment agreements, we can forge synergistic relationship with companies for economic development and job creation," Wonju Mayor Won Chang-muk said. He further stressed that "We will spare no effort to support the companies investing in Wonju."
