According to Yonhap News,

(WONJU=Yonhap News) Wonju City of Gangwon Province has made investment agreements with 11 companies this year, setting a new record.

The city entered into investment contracts with 3 companies in 2010, 6 companies in 2011, 4 companies in 2012, 6 companies in 2013, 8 companies in 2014, and 3 companies in 2015.

Despite difficult conditions to attract companies due to the deregulation of the metropolitan area, the city was able to attain such result by making active efforts and visiting more than 60 companies in a year.

Total investment from 11 companies reaches KRW 162.9 billion, which is expected to create about 670 jobs.

Wonju City projects that lot sales of the Enterprise City will be completed soon thanks to the series of investment pledges.

30 out of 39 lots in the Enterprise City have been sold to 27 companies while six companies are currently under negotiation for investment.

"We expect all lots in the Enterprise City will be sold within the next year due to the expansion of transportation infrastructure such as the opening of the Gwangju-Wonju Expressway and construction of the Yeoju-Wonju Metropolitan Subway." a city official said.
