GANGWON-DO < invest Korea

(HOENGSEONG=Yonhap News) Hoengseong County was evaluated as the most business friendly municipality among 18 cities and counties in Gangwon Province.

The county announced on January 9 that it received S grade, the highest rating, in six criteria of the economic activity friendliness of the National Regulatory Map, which is released by the Korea Chamber of Commerce at the end of last year.

Hoengseong has been holding meetings to resolve regulatory issues and sending regulatory reform staffs to business sites to better communicate with local companies. It also has made strenuous efforts to lift regulations hindering investment promotion and regional economic development.

The county facilitated sales of an industrial complex by easing water quality standard to alleviate financial burden for wastewater treatment cost of tenant companies and supported relocation of training center of the Korea Fire Safety Association Gangwon Branch through prior consulting service.

"We will continue our deregulation drive to remove outdated and unnecessary regulations and work harder so that local businesses and residents can feel the change. We will step up our efforts to be more business-friendly and environment-friendly county," Han Gyu-ho, Mayor of Hoengseong, said.
