GANGWON-DO < invest Korea

(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) The 5th Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) Foreign Trade and Investment Expo is set to take place in Donghae City, Gangwon Province, under the theme "Cooperation, Progress, Mutual Growth in a New East Asian Era."

From September 21 to 24, the expo will be held inside the entire Sports Complex in Cheongok-dong.

Planned, in connection with the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, as a global economic Korean wave festival, the expo will invite companies and buyers to expand the global market, and provide consultation services on trade and investments by matching companies and buyers, one-on-one, and combining product exhibitions, the signing of contracts, and on-site sales.

By attracting a tour group of around 10,000 buyers from Korea and abroad, the expo plans to maximize the volume of on-site sales. Especially, in connection with the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the expo will operate a Olympics Preview Center, and cooperate in economic cooperation forums held between districts set to provide venues for the winter games, as a way for both events to benefit from each other.

The Expo will also operate a market for harmony with North Korea, as well as a global food zone.

Other events to take place include a GTI Economic Cooperation Forum for securing a foothold in the Northern market early on in connection with GTI member nations and the World Korean Business Convention, a Women's CEO Convention, a Korea-Russia Economic Cooperation Forum, and a World Korean Business Leaders Convention.

Participating companies will have an opportunity to exhibit their best GTI products.

The expo will strive to benefit companies in various ways. For instance, incentives will be provided to those selected as outstanding companies.
