(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) Gangwon Province and Vietnam's economic center Ho Chi Minh City will be holding an economic conference on May 17 to facilitate communication and share information, and thereby promote exports, trade, and investment between the two regions.
Gangwon Governor Choi Moon-soon, Ho Chi Minh City Mayor Nguyen Thanh Phong, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Nguyen Vu Tu are expected to attend the event in Chuncheon, along with over 100 representatives of both governments, economic organizations, and businesses.
Starting with a B2B (business to business) meeting, presenters will introduce economic cooperation projects, and the two governments are scheduled to sign a memorandum of agreement on trade, tourism, and economic fields.
Time will also be set aside for the two governments to talk about their strategic projects in investment, trade and tourism, as well as meetings to exchange various opinions on the projects being pursued based on mutual cooperation.
The province is also planning to open a Ho Chi Minh City headquarters to increase exports to Vietnam in early June.
