According to Newsis News,

(SEJONG=Newsis News) The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced May 22 that it is recruiting tenant companies for the new cold chain cluster for processing seafood at the Donghae Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) in Gangwon Province.

The ministry hopes to attract companies that will utilize the cluster's low-temperature "cold chain" supply system to store and process marine goods caught off the Korean east coast or further north in Russia, and sell the final products in Korea, as well as to the neighboring countries of China and japan.

The ministry's DFTZ Office will invest a total of KRW 28 billion from 2017 to 2019 to build all necessary facilities.

Low leasing rates, and easy access to processing and low-temperature storage facilities will allow tenants to invest less in the early stages of their business endeavors.

Tenants can also benefit from the ample fishery resources just off the coast at the seaside location, and secure a stable supply of fresh ingredients.

According to a DFTZ source, "When the third stage of the Donghae Port expansion project ends in 2020, tenants will also be able to take advantage of the improved logistic conditions for importing and exporting."

Businesses that wish to make an inquiry should contact the DFTZ Office.
