According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) Local companies are increasing sponsorship of various winter sports with the Winter Olympics to be held in South Korea just months away, industry sources said Friday.

Lotte Group plans to invest 10 billion won (US$8.78 million) into the country's skiing industry from 2015 to 2020. The conglomerate's chief Shin Dong-bin has led the Korea Ski Association since 2014.

South Korea grabbed four gold medals in skiing at the Sapporo Asian Winter Games earlier this year, its best performance at the Winter Asiad yet.

Coca-Cola Beverage Co. hired Won Yun-jong and Seo Young-woo, the two-man bobsleigh team, in April as models for Powerade, the official sports drink of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Amway Korea Co. has been providing products from its health functional food brand Nutrilite to a total of 58 athletes and coaching staff from the Korea Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation since November.

The Winter Games are scheduled for Feb. 9-25 in PyeongChang, some 180 kilometers east of Seoul, and the adjacent sub-host cities of Gangneung and Jeongseon.
