GANGWON-DO < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) Gangwon Province, along with Gangwon Agro-Fishery Food Export Association, Gangwon Technopark, and Gangwon Trade Center, is set to hold an export consulting event for locally-produced agro-fishery foods in the Taiwanese capital of Taipei on December 5.

The event will be attended by 20 Gangwon agro-fishery foods producers and processing companies, as well as local buyers with distribution networks in Taiwan, and 30 member companies from the Taiwan branch of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Association (OKTA).

Some 150 meetings are expected to take place at the event, and lead to the on-site signing of numerous contracts.

In an effort to diversify its export markets, the province is currently trying to make inroads into new markets in Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and the Americas.

In addition, OKTA's Taiwan office in scheduled to sign an agreement with Gangwon Agro-Fishery Food Export Association, Gangwon Technopark, and Gangwon Trade Center, at the event.

Based on the agreement, the three Gangwon agencies will help promising companies enter the Taiwan market, while OKTA will secure local distribution channels and provide necessary support.
